Highland Visuals started in the summer of 1993, when the Internet was a small place and not too many people were embracing the Internet as they are today. In fact, that in 1993 there were only a handful of websites. Yes, many of the larger corporations had a presence, but the smaller companies thought that the Internet was just for chatting and sending e-mail. None of them ever believed that the Internet would take off like it has. While on a BBS (Bulletin Board System) in 1993, our president Drew Como, had a unique opportunity to bring a company to the Internet. At this time, there weren't many advertising companies doing web design, as it was too new to tell if a web campaign was going to work and be profitable. Mr. Como took the opportunity and created a presence for this company.

The website consisted of about 5 pages of text with hardly any graphics. (Bandwidth at this time was limited to 19.2k/28.8k modems, as T1 lines were extremely expensive for smaller companies). Once the website was done, it was posted to the Internet. After about 2 months, the site had started getting a big deal of traffic to and through it. By the end of the year, Mr. Como had already done 8 sites with more on the way.

Highland Visuals has completed or worked on nearly 300 different websites over our history. We have worked with large corporations such as HBO^TM and many others in the Cable TV industry. We have also worked with smaller companies in our local community by giving their small company a large global presence.
